In the week leading up to the Oscars in February, a new Sharpie product made it’s debut: The Stainless Steel Refillable Sharpie!
I’m a huge fan of Sharpie markers. They’ve gotten me through many a move, and I love to use them for labeling packages I’m mailing. And this newest member of the Sharpie family looks, well, sharp! It has a really sleek feel to it, and it’s fine tip writes clearly, whether you’re signing autographs or addressing packages!
Sharpie marker ink writes on most surfaces, doesn’t smear once it’s dry, and is fade and water resistant, making it the perfect ink for permanent marking.
The new Stainless Steel Refillable Sharpie hits the stores this month at a suggested retail price of $6.99, with the refill priced at $1.99.

I use my Sharpies on a variety of things, but probably mostly to name and date food items in freezer bags. Thanks for another great giveaway!

One of my favorite uses for Sharpies is for art projects with my students. They draw with a black sharpie then use watercolors to paint their pictures. The sharpies don’t “run” and it really makes the colors on their paintings stand out.

I most often use Sharpies to label food I am putting in the freezer. Since I complete freezer or once a month cooking it is very important to have things clearly labeled. Sharpies are the best because they don’t run or smudge. I also use them to write on plastic containers in the garage.

On ziplock bags and freezer paper after wrapping meat for the freezer. For leftovers on masking tape on tupperware. A must when we butcher – different colors for different types of meat makes things easy to find in the freezer.

The Stainless Steel Sharpie is an awesome marker, and Ive been lucky enough to have one in my hands for a few weeks now, so I thought Id leave a link to my review for your readers who might be interested. Please do not enter me in the contest as I already have one and don’t want to take it from someone who doesnt have one yet.

When I was in high school, I had about 50 sharpies in every possible color and point size. They were the best for coloring on everything from my converse to my locker.
Sharpies are just very, very iconic.

I use them to write the species and length of wood on lumber in my workshop. That way I can tell what a piece is from the small end view.

My favorite way to use a sharpie is to address care packages to my friends.

I use mine for labeling anything and everything or for writing when I need to make a statement. I used to draw fake tattoos on myself to fool my friends. No need for that anymore. Nr

I use a Sharpie to write my phone number on the arm of a hot dude in a bar. That way, if he doesn’t call and I see him within a week, I’ll know he’s lying when he says…”Oh…I lost your number”. Not that that ever happens…

I love to grade with all the different colors of sharpies… I am Professor Sharpie—well at least that is what the students call me. They know not to print double sided because the sharpies bleed through. I still love them though.

Here’s what an engineer uses a sharpie for:
Writing on CDs and DVDs
Making label stickers for a bzillion different things
Writing on boxes of all sorts
Taking notes while on the phone (big ones)
Marking PCBs (printed circuit boards)
Writing on equipment; i.e. writing things like ‘DUD’ or ‘BROKEN’ on broken lab equipment
More writing on boxes
Writing on cables ‘n connectors ‘n other things
There are alot of ‘insider’ nerd jokes I could make about uses for sharpies. Suffice to say that they come in damn handy…

I use Sharpies for a lot of practical things like filling in a color spot or marking my name on things but my favorite use is pointing out public typos with red Sharpies and squiggly lines!

I haven’t tried a sharpie yet, but use markers to mark packages of meat for the freezer. Would really like to try one.

I use Sharpies to write my last name on edges of all of the books in my classroom library. I don’t think it keeps the kids from stealing the books–and, quite honestly, if they actually want to keep a book, I am thrilled!–but I figure that, at least, it will make them feel a little guilty every time they look at it. (And then, one day, when they are rich, they will look at the book, remember how they stole it from my classroom, and decide to donate tons of money so I can buy more books!).
