About Lynnae McCoy (@Lynnae)

lynnaemccoyThanks for clicking the link in my Twitter profile! Since you’re here, you are probably wondering who I am and what I blog about.  Let me tell you!

I’m Lynnae McCoy (@Lynnae on Twitter), and I blog at Being Frugal.net and Frugal Mom Reviews.  If you’re interested in why I started blogging, you can read the full story here.

The short story is that I’m a Christian, wife, mom, school and church volunteer, and blogger.  In my spare time (which is exteremely rare) I love to read and tinker with my website.  Yes, I’m a geek.

I love to encourage people in their journey toward taking control of their money and living a more frugal lifestyle.

My Blogs

beingfrugal125x1252I began writing Being Frugal.net to chronicle my journey out of debt.  As a one income family, I knew that in order to make any headway in my debt repayment plans, I would have to cut the budget by being frugal. Along the way I have had many successes, and some mistakes, too.

Being Frugal.net has an active commenting community, and there’s a lot to learn not only from the blog, but from the wonderful people who read and leave their own suggestions and opinions.

Some of the topics I cover are:

Frugal Mom Reviews is an offshoot of Being Frugal.net.  I found that bloggers are often offered products to review, and since I don’t believe in spending money unless the product is worth it, I set up Frugal Mom Reviews as a way to let my readers know whether a product is worth the price tag or not.

Eleven Moms

elevenmoms_badge1In August 2008 I became one of Walmart’s Eleven Moms, a groundbreaking partnership between a big corporation and moms in the social media realm.  I was able to travel to the Walmart headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas in October to see the inner workings of the corporation and give feedback to Walmart executives.  You can read all about my trip right here.

Connect With Me!

I love to hang out on Twitter!  Since I work from home, it’s my version of the watercooler at work.  I like to chit chat with whoever happens to be tweeting when I’m there.  I also like to post links to articles I find interesting and deals I come across.  So don’t be shy!  Follow me and say hello!

I also use Facebook and Stumbleupon fairly regularly.  Feel free to add me as a friend on either or both.  I’ll friend you back!
