This week my kids worked really hard in school. So hard, in fact, that they both accomplished 5 days worth of work in 4. The reason? Their friends are coming over today, and they didn’t want to be bothered with school during a day with friends.
And the best part? Neither of my children complained at all about the extra work. I guess the reward is worth it!
News of Note
Lending Club is celebrating! They are nearing 25,000 investors, and to commemorate the event, the person who is the 25,000th investor will win $2500. All you have to do to enter is sign up for a lender’s account and link your bank account to it. You don’t even have to fund a loan! I have a lender’s account, and Lending Club has never spammed me, so I think it’s a good deal! Unfortunately I’m not eligible, as I already have an account.
Since Monday is Labor Day, there will be no Frugal Coast2Coast on Monday evening. We’ll be back the following Monday, when we talk with Audrey of Mom Generations about how to frugally fight the frump.

Adults could learn something from your kids– get motivated by something and rise to the occassion. It is amazing what you can accomplish when you put your mind to it.
My wife & I do not have any children… YET, but I’m sure it is an awesome thing when they do things like that and surprise you! :-)
I signed up for opt-out phone books over a year ago and still getting them. Will try again
I wish my job could work like home schooling where if I work really hard for the other four days of the week, I could take an extra day off! Seriously though, it’s nice that your kids have flexibility to do that. I think it’s great for them to get a long weekend if they can buckle down and accomplish a lot during the week.
