Blog Spotlight: Econobusters

molly140x180buttonEvery once in a while I come across a blog that just clicks with me…with my philosophy on life and frugality.  And I’d like to tell you about one such blog today.

I first noticed Econobusters several months ago, when they started entering links for Tightwad Tuesday.  I checked out the Econobusters site, and I was impressed with what I saw.

Despite being only 6 months old, Econobusters is full of frugal tips on organization, cooking, pets, and much more.  If you like freebies, they post freebies every Friday.  And as a frugal homeschooler, I especially appreciated the post highlighting a group of homeschoolers who made solar ovens!  What a great idea!

If you sign up for their free email newsletter, you receive a free e-book on Meal Planning.  I signed up to see if it was helpful, and the e-book contains a lot of forms useful in menu planning, including a reproducible grocery list!

And if you really, really like the content and style of the Econobusters website, they have digests for sale for $4.95.  The August 2009 digest is Organization for Busy Families.

Now I wouldn’t be very frugal if I didn’t admit that if you want information on organizing at no cost, you can get it on the internet and do a search.  However, if you’re time pressed and want information all in one place, I think the digest is a good buy.

I was given a download of the August 2009 digest, so I could review it, and there are 53 pages in this little e-book.  It’s kind of like a magazine with articles on different organizational challenges…from cooking to home decorating to organizing bank accounts.

So if you ever pick up magazines at the checkout stand, because a headline like “100 Easy Tips for Organizing” grabs you, save your money and buy the Econobusters Digest instead.  The tips are more practical, and they’re frugal, too.

I hope you’ll take a look at the Econobusters website.  It’s a treasure trove of frugal information!
