Today marks the end of our third week of homeschooling, and my daughter has a big project due today. This afternoon she is inviting some friends over for a Hawaiian Luau.
She’s made grass skirts and will be teaching her friends to Hula. We also spent the day in the kitchen yesterday, making Mango Bread and Hawaiian Carrot Cake for her to serve.
My daughter is pretty proud of all she’s learned in the first three weeks of school, and rightly so! She knows a whole lot more about the Pacific Islands than I did at that age!
News of Note
Will at Wisebread has proposed a panel for SXSW next year, and if it’s chosen, I get to speak on it! The panel is Measuring Blogger Credibility: FTC Regulation vs. Crowdsourced Solutions. If you have a moment, I’d really appreciate it if you could show your support by registering at the SXSW website and then voting for the panel proposal by clicking on the thumb’s up symbol. Thanks!
Those of you following my homeschooling journey might want to subscribe to my very new personal blog, Lynnae McCoy.com. I know. Not a very original name, but what can I say? I already owned the domain, and I didn’t want to buy another. Anyway, I’m blogging about all things family life over there.
I have two giveaways going on right now. The first is for a $150 Lunchbox Care Package, and the second is for a $500 Walmart Gift Card. If you haven’t entered, be sure to do so before the 28th, when both giveaways will be closed.
Readers have often wondered what I do as a “Walmart Elevenmom.” Instead of writing it all out myself, I’m going to link you to a post by fellow Elevenmom Christine, of From Dates to Diapers. She explains what exactly it is we do.
