Friday Linkfest: Back to School Edition

by Lynnae on August 14, 2009 · 4 comments

Even though we’ve been homeschooling, the neighborhood kids are still on summer break.  That’s all winding down, though.  Public schools around here are starting to hold their registrations.  Back to school sales are going on.  And I need to sign my daughter up for public school band soon.

I love back to school season, because it means fall is right around the corner.  I look forward to cooler mornings and colorful leaves.  I can’t believe it’s almost here!

News of Note

Speaking of back to school, I have a couple of giveaways related to back to school on the agenda. So keep your eyes open next week!  I won’t tell you what the giveaways are, but they’re pretty good!

Some of you may have noticed that Being Frugal.net looks a little different this week. I’ve tweaked things a bit to make the behind the scenes technical work a little bit easier.  I’m still working out a few details. A huge thanks to Larry at Empty Cabin Media for all his help! If you need a site designed, I don’t hesitate to recommend him!

I made the mistake of going to Wal-Mart after work today – the place was packed with back to school shoppers!

The new theme looks great. :)

Thanks for mentioning my post. I can’t wait for fall either. When I go to Walmart, I still have to browse the back to school items.

We love back to school because we get a break from playing entertainment committee for all these kids!

I have seen that Staples commercial yet, but it is my favorite! You know the one . . . “They’re going baaack!”

Thanks for the mention! We’re a split family — daughters go to a private school and my wife homeschools our son.

Can’t wait for fall. There was a little nip in the air over the weekend and it made me want to put on a sweater!
