I returned home from BlogHer Sunday evening, and it wasn’t easy getting home. Leaving Chicago, the plane sat on the tarmac for 30 minutes without air. It was a full plane, so it got hot in a hurry.
And believe it or not, leaving Seattle the same thing happened! Only Seattle was a lot warmer, so it was miserable. I think it took half the flight to get the plane cooled down!
But I made it home and did nothing for two days, because I was so tired. Then Wednesday my brother, who lives in Spokane, popped in for a surprise visit. It was a great visit, but I obviously accomplished nothing on Wednesday. So yesterday I unpacked, did the laundry, and cleaned the house…just in time for my inlaws to come visit! But that’s what summers are for, right? Visiting and not keeping a regular schedule!
News of Note
I’m in the midst of a major redesign of the blog that will look like a minor redesign. Mainly I’m trying to increase functionality on the back end of the blog. So if you have any feature requests (things you’d like to see in the sidebar or that you wish would be easier to find), please let me know. No promises, but I want the site to be easy for all of you to navigate, so your opinion matters a lot!
I participated in the Carnival of Personal Finance this week with Joe’s guest post, Five Steps to Making Your Budget Work. Jeff of Good Financial Cents did a great job with the carnival, and I really enjoyed all the pictures of his family! Go check it out!
The Roundup
Here are a few of the articles that caught my eye this week.
- Should You Take a Pay Cut for a Ministry Related Position? – Bible Money Matters. My husband and I have had to face this decision a few times, and it’s not always an easy one.
- Best Free Essential Software for Windows – Moolanomy. I use a lot of this software, and you sure can’t beat FREE!
- Back to the Basics: Create a Weekly Routine – Simple Mom. I really need to get better about this.
- Laid Off? How to Protect Your Financial Security – My Two Dollars.
- Top Ten Failed Personal Finance Book Titles – Mighty Bargain Hunter. This was just funny!
Have a great weekend! We’re hoping to start homeschooling on Monday, so next week could be an interesting one for me!
