Review: Energizer 15 Minute Battery Charger

energizer-15-minute-chargerA couple of months ago, I was approached by Colleen at Classy Mommy about reviewing the Energizer 15 minute battery charger.  Since I’m a huge fan of rechargeable batteries, I took her up on her offer.  Here’s what I found.

I love, love, LOVE this product!  I’ve been using a regular Energizer battery charger for the last couple of years, and I’ve found that Energizer batteries tend to hold their charge pretty well.

That said, I was skeptical as to whether a battery charger could actually completely charge batteries in 15 minutes.  But the Energizer battery charger did just that.

The Energizer 15 minute battery charger can charge from 1-4 batteries at once, and it charges any combination of AA or AAA batteries.  It’s not super quiet like a regular battery charger.  While it works, you can hear the fan going.  But I didn’t really care, since my batteries were ready to go in only 15 minutes.

Another bonus is that my battery charger came with a car adapter!  I thought that was SUPER cool, as I often remember that I need batteries for my camera, as I’m headed out the door.  Now it’s not a problem.  I can just charge my batteries on the way to my destination!

There aren’t too many products that I highly, highly recommend, but this is one of them.  I love rechargeable batteries, because I don’t have to continue to buy batteries and throw dead batteries away.  But the one downside of rechargeable batteries is that if you forget to recharge them, you’re out of luck when you need batteries.

The Energizer 15 minute charger takes away the downside.  If you forget to charge your batteries, a fully recharged battery is just 15 minutes away!

Ah! I’ve been looking for a solid, simple solution for battery charging for about 3-4 years. Thank you!

Normally you post pros and cons….
Was there nothing to post on the negative side of this???

I’m in the market for one – so tell all :)

There really weren’t any cons that I could see. Some of the reviews on Amazon said it didn’t seem to be compatible with other brands of batteries, but I’ve always used Energizer, so it wasn’t a problem for me.

Thanks Lynnae. With three young kids, we go through batteries like crazy and have had little luck with rechargeble batteries. I can’t wait to try it oug.

Thanks. I’m thinking Christmas presents already :) Makes it easy – when a good idea jumps in front of me, I tend to take it and run. Then Christmas shopping is soon done :)

I had that same charger for a year, and the longer I used it, the less it worked. By the end of the year, my batteries didn’t last longer than a few hours in my camera (used often, as I have four kids). For less-enery-sucking devices, it’s probably fine, but I have yet to find rechargables that really do the job well for electronics.

Nice review. The Energizer 15 Minute Battery Charger may work pretty okay however you cold expect diminished performance over time from the batteries if used in high-drain devices. Hopefully, competition will eventually deliver some truly high performance rechargeable cells.

Great review! I love rechargable batteries– very frugal! I have used them for years.

Cons!
- Not autovolt.
- Not indicated in the instruction manual that its 110v.
- Only in the adaptor that says 110v but its pretty small to notice.

Otherwise this is an awesome charger. I just have to repair the blown adaptor
