If you didn't HAVE to be frugal, would you be? I suppose I wonder about the "mindset" of it all...living frugally because it's the right thing to do, you know?

Seems to me that when living sensibly with our money becomes our paradigm, then spending choices can't help but line up.

Great idea!

1) What was the turning point, when you decided to live frugally?
2) Is the renewed interest in frugality a temporary or long-term trend?
3) What is your best ever frugal idea or tip?

Thanks!

Do you use a household organizer notebook, or would you consider doing so?

What was the biggest challenge you faced when you first decided to live frugally?

Okay, here's a frugal cooking question for ya:

I've found that cooking with beans is a great way to make meals cheap. I would love to use dried beans instead of canned because they are less expensive and more nutritious, however it seems in addition to soaking them over night I have to cook them twice to get them soft. Is there a secret to cooking dried beans quicker?

Thanks!

I just wanted to brag that I paid off one of my credit cards today - I'm so excited!!! I'm paying off the other one next week, so I'm closer to being credit-card free (haven't ever used them - transferred balance from my only card to these two for the interest-free rate)!!!!

Reading your blog everyday has really helped me with staying focused with my own goals (keeping my second job until my credit cards are paid off!).

Thank you very much!!

How do you come up with different ideas for meal plans? I'm not much of a cook and I don't really like cooking. I end up cooking the same 12 dishes since I know those and haven't messed them up. I have a 9 month old and need recipes that aren't too involved since my son can get really crabby.

Thanks
