After another week of not feeling well, I think both my son and I are on the mend. Thanks for all your great advice yesterday. Mostly we just relaxed and took it easy. Lots of TV watching, snuggling under blankets, and just doing nothing. The antibiotics are kicking in, and hopefully we’ll kick this illness for good!
Blog of the Week
Working down the M-Network blogroll, the next blog of the week is:
I love Plonkee’s blog, because it’s so different from my own. I’m a stay at home mom with kids in the USA, and Plonkee is a single woman from Great Britain. If I ever need a different perspective, I can head over to Plonkee Money and learn about things like living a child free life. While it’s not something I would choose, sometimes it’s interesting to read about someone who thinks so differently than myself. It’s what makes the world interesting!
News of Note
Just a couple of things this week. I forgot to post a reminder on Monday, but on the last edition of Frugal Coast2Coast, Jenn and I had the pleasure of interviewing J.D. Roth from Get Rich Slowly. It was a great interview, and I sure learned a lot! J.D. has a great perspective on getting out of debt and what happens afterwards. If you’ve never heard his story, I encourage you to listen to the show. I think you’ll enjoy it!
There’s a big giveaway on the Reviews section of Being Frugal.net right now. I’m giving away a Nokia cell phone by T-Mobile. I think it’s appropriate, considering my dilemma last week, as to whether I should drop my landline. I decided to keep the landline for now. Maybe in a couple of years when my kids are a little older, I’ll drop it.
Since I do giveaways from Walmart from time to time, I wanted to point out a scam that’s going around. Apparently people are receiving email surveys, promising $150 if they fill it out. The survey asks for credit card information, so customers can “receive their payment.” Please, never email your credit card information. No legitimate company would ask you to do that.

Hope you’re on the mend!
Good roundup and I enjoyed the links!
We dropped our landline last year and haven’t missed it! Of course we don’t have kids but I can see why you’d want to keep it since you have them!
I’m right there with ya! My boys were both sick about 3 weeks ago, then towards the beginning of this week we all caught it again!!! Ugh! I know I’m to blame. I’m terrible about actually finishing 10 days worth of antibiotics. Not this time. We’ll get it done!!!
Heather B’s last blog post..Southwest Spaghetti Squash.
Thanks for mentioning me! I’m glad you’re feeling better.
Kelly from Almost Frugal’s last blog post..Calling All Frugal Fashionistas!
Thanks for the mention.
