Thank you for that inspiring story. I do believe that God will always provide for His children, whether the requests are spoken or not. I've had my share of hard times and know that God's always provided for me and my family. Times are still difficult for us at times, but our faith has never been shaken. We have all our basic needs met now and in the future. I totally believe in miracles, especially the ones in front of me that are unseen. Let's continue to keep each other in prayer and give God the glory for all prayers answered.

Great post and it is so true. Years ago my husband was out of work for a whole year, and God provided for our needs in so many ways. We lived on severance, unemployment and our savings. Plus, friends were so gracious to help in need.

Being a fan of self-sufficiency, I always think of the expression, "The Lord helps those who help themselves . . . "

I have been the recipient of some everyday ordinary miracles - so I know He provides in our everyday lives. They may not be the big earthshattering kinds, but in my mind, they are miracles nonetheless :) And I am thankful!

So many of our "needs" are really "wants". This is the difficult part. We always thought we needed two cars . . . We only have one now and rarely miss the second vehicle.

@Eric - Best wishes on your new endeavor. I've also experienced the abundant blessings, and also the provision of just what we need at the time. Looking back, though, the provision of "just what we need" turns out to be an abundant blessing, in that it's through the really hard times that my faith seems to grow the most!

Great post! I recently quit my job to work full time on some personal projects. My wife and I spent a lot of time in prayer and discussion before we made the leap. We know that we are were God wants us to be so we know He will provide.

The question I have been wondering lately is how. There are times when He blesses abundantly, over and above what you need. Then there are times like your story where He gives you just enough for today so you have to trust tomorrow to Him.

Which is it going to be for me? Hopefully I will know in the next few months. Either way, I know without a doubt that He will provide. He has proven Himself faithful in the past. I know He will again.
