Wow, what a week it’s been! It seems with the bad economy, the opinions of frugal bloggers are in demand in the mainstream media. I already told you I’m going to be featured in the April issue of Redbook (along with Amy at Mom Advice). I was also interviewed for Project M, a global business magazine. And this week photographers for both of those magazines came to my house to shoot some pictures.
I have a new respect for models. Posing and smiling, while trying to look natural is a lot of hard work! Still, it was a great experience and lots of fun. And the photographers I worked with were both excellent!
Blog of the Week
The blog I’m highlighting this week is a fantastic resource, especially if you’re ready to move beyond frugal living and into investing.
Moolanomy is one of the very first personal finance blogs I started reading, and Pinyo, the author, knows what he’s talking about. He tends to use lots of visual aids in his posts, which makes them very easy to follow, even if you don’t completely understand the subject. I highly recommend you check out Moolanomy.
And speaking of Pinyo, he’s also the brains behind Blogthority, a blog about blogging. And right now he’s offering a special blog optimization report, where he will analyze your blog and tell you how you can improve. The report is $49.99, but you can receive a $10.00 refund, if you use the code BF3854.
I can’t tell you how many times Pinyo has helped me out with Being Frugal. He’s a wealth of technical knowledge. If you’re interested in his report, but not sure, he even has a free sample report for you to download, so you can see what you’re getting before you buy.
News of Note
There’s still time to enter the giveaway for the 8GB iPod Touch! All you have to do is listen to the February 2 and February 9 editions of Frugal Coast2Coast to find out what the two keywords are. Then enter the keywords in the form at the end of this post. I’m closing the contest tomorrow at noon, so get those entries in soon! YIKES That should read today at noon! It’s already the 13th! Speaking of Frugal Coast2Coast, Monday night’s show will be about frugal kitchen tips. If you have a question about saving money in the kitchen, post it in the comments, and we’ll try to answer it on the show!

The Roundup
Since I was so busy this week, I didn’t do as much blog reading as normal. Thus, this is a pretty short roundup. Nevertheless, I found some great articles in my reader.
- Emotional Bank Accounts - Gather Little by Little. A must-read before Valentine’s Day.
- Introducing the Christian PF Financial Planning Directory – Christian PF. Great idea!
- The Day AT&T Universal Card Lost Its Mind (And Another Customer) – Frugal Dad. Another reason to hate credit card companies.
- Thrift Master Tips! – Blissfully Domestic. New to thrift store shopping? Start here!
- What is wrong with taking a second job? – Mighty Bargain Hunter. I say nothing. What do you say?
Have a great weekend and a happy Valentine’s Day!

Lynnae, that is so cool! Congrats!
Looking forward to looking over the Redbook feature (my wife’s copy, of course!). Congratulations, and thanks for mentioning my article this week!
Frugal Dad’s last blog post..The Day AT&T Universal Card Lost Its Mind (And Another Customer)
That’s so fun! I look forward to seeing the articles when they come out.
Lynnae, I am so proud of you bringing sound financial advice to your generation and beyond. I hope these new opportunities are used to help our nation develop God honoring and people honoring attitudes toward temporal possessions, instead of self indulgence. All the financial troubles our nation is experiencing can result in something positive if we learn from the mistakes and attitudes that caused them.
Keep up the good work, but, a word of caution, don’t let the opportunities take over your life.
Lunette’s last blog post..Special Occasion Biscuits

@Pinyo – Yes, that’s my house. It looks clean because half of the living room is still unfurnished. LOL
@Lunette – I’m definitely working on the balance. So far I’m doing OK, as the kids are in school. I’m a little concerned about the summer, though.
