Another week is coming to an end. It hasn’t been a super exciting week for me, as I’ve been fighting a cold and mostly taking it easy. I did manage to accomplish completely cleaning out my daughter’s room on Wednesday, though. If you have a tween girl who’s into arts & crafts, you can imagine what I was up against.
And the work on our house is continuing to move along. I hope to have more pictures at the end of next week. Right now we’re working on the laundry room, which is the last major project for a while. After that it’s mainly minor stuff that needs to be done. For now, at least. Thank goodness!
Blog of the Week
A couple of months ago, I introduced post of the week. After doing post of the week a couple of times, I came to the realization that it’s really hard to choose just one blog post to highlight. But I’d love to highlight all the blogs in my reader. So in addition to a roundup, I’m going to give you all a glimpse as to what I read every day.
I’m going to start with the members of the M-Network, since I’ve known each of these bloggers (in the online sense) for a long time now. So, the first blog of the week is:
Cash Money Life is a great blog about, well, cash, money, and life! Patrick posts lots of information about money management, current financial news, deals, and much, much more. Make sure you head over and look at his greatest hits. Lots of good information!
News of Note
If you missed the latest edition of Frugal Coast2Coast, you can find the archive in my sidebar. And mark your calendars for Monday night at 8:30 EST/ 5:30 PST. Jenn and I are going to be talking about budgeting, one of my favorite subjects! We’d love to have you call in! And if you can’t call in, but have a budgeting question, leave it in the comments, and we’ll try to get to it on the air.
Since we’re talking about budgeting on Frugal Coast2Coast on Monday, I’m going to highlight some budgeting software next week. I’ve done this before, but I’ve discovered even more programs to help manage your budget! There’s something for everyone!
Frugal Dad is unveiling his new blog today: SideHustleBlogging.com. If you want tips on making your blog successful, be sure to read this blog! Jason, the author of both Frugal Dad and SideHustleBlogging, took Frugal Dad from new blog to over 5000 readers in just over a year, so he knows how to build a blog!
Single Guy Money is giving away a $100 gift card to Target or Walmart. Head over to his blog to find out how you can win!
There’s a campaign to bring back Thrift Week, a celebration of responsible living, from January 17-24. It originally ran from 1916 until the mid-1960′s, starting every year on Benjamin Franklin’s birthday. Check out the Bring Back Thrift Week website to find out how the campaign is coming and what you can do to help.

Thanks for mentioning Side Hustle Blogging! I’m still very much enjoying Frugal Coast2Coast radio, although I have to catch most of it via archives. Monday nights are busy with sports practices for the kids and we are usually rushing home just in time for baths and bed. However, I plan to catch a live show soon!
Thanks for mentioning the contest Lynnae.
