TGIF: ‘Tis the Season to be Sick Edition

I’ve been sick all week.

I know this post is a little late this morning.  I usually write my posts at night, but yesterday I had such a bad sinus headache, I couldn’t bear to look at the computer screen for more than a couple of minutes at a time.  I think I’m finally on the mend, but I’ve been sick for over a week now.  Not fun!  Hopefully you are all staying well!

Despite my illness, it’s been a pretty exciting week.  My daughter was selected to sing the solo part for the school choir’s upcoming performances.  I’m so proud of her!

And I finally finished unpacking the house.  Our guest room looks like an actual room instead of a storage unit now…just in time for my brother to come visit this weekend.  Nothing like a little pressure to get me moving!

Post of the Week

Because I was sick, I didn’t do much blog reading this week.  However, while I was going through the links back to my blog, trying to recover entries for the $500 GC contest I have going (more on that in a minute), I came across a post that I really loved.  So the post of the week is:

Just Something to Think About by Cyndy at Walking Frugally

I encourage everyone to read this post and take it to heart.  Well said, Cyndy!

Notable News

The One Dollar Give is going strong! If you missed my post earlier this week, the One Dollar Give is a project encouraging everyone to give just $1 a day toward a designated charity.  Head over to the One Dollar Give to see which charities are being featured, and subscribe to their feed, to make sure you don’t miss a day!

The M-Network has begun our annual 12 Days of Christmas project! You can read the first post at I’ve Paid for This Twice Already and follow the links from there.  I’ll be writing a post for the project on Sunday.

The Nickelodeon Contest for a $500 Walmart giftcard is going strong. You have until the 15th to enter.  Due to something that was up with the Mr. Linky website earlier this week, I had to take down the Mr. Linky.  I’m working on restoring the links, but if you had linked a post in the Mr. Linky, please leave the link in the comments section, so I’m sure not to miss anyone!  Update:  The linkies are back!  So if you signed Mr. Linky, your entry is good to go!

If you want more chances to win a $500 Walmart Gift Card, make sure you check out the contests on the other Eleven Moms sites.

Hopefully I didn’t miss anything!  Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you back here Sunday with my 7th Day of Christmas post!

Congratulations to your daughter — now make sure you don’t breathe on her and get her sick before her solo! :) I hope you’re feeling better.
