I can sympathize…We got a kitten a few months ago. His greatest joy is waking me up at 2 or 3 in the morning by purring and rubbing his face all over mine. Cute right? NOT–let me sleep.

He is very sweet but can be really crazy hyper sometimes, too, That’s when we cal him “Kitten of the Corn”

Great roundup of posts today…. notice I am a bit later commenting today due to reading thru all those! haha!

Have a stray feral cat that has been hanging around for awhile and seems to have adopted me. Of course, it helped that when the scrawny thing whined I took pity and fed it… Now it greets me every morning as I go out the door, and every evening when I drive home, asking where the grub is! Funny how fast a cat can train a person!

There is nothing frugal about wanting to ‘adopt’ this cat tho. After checking with the neighbors to make sure she’s a stray, I checked with the local vet. They want $40 for a ‘get acquainted with your vet’ visit, $17.50 for shots, and then $97 for the spay, and more if she is in heat at the time. For me, that’s a LOT of money at $11/hr and a 32 hr week…. So I called our Unitedpaws animal shelter and am waiting for a call back on their feral spay assistance program. Hopefully, they can help out some. I know their fee for someone adopting a cat is $65, which includes the spay certificate allowing the work to be done. I think I need to convinve them to take in the cat, then let me adopt it – it would be MUCH cheaper! haha! Just don’t see them letting me do that!

And no, I was NOT in the market for a cat. But I guess the cat was in the market for a person! :)

Thanks Lynnae, you’re the best! And I can totally commiserate/empathize on the kitten thing… we have a new kitten too, and she likes nothing better than crawl into my baby’s crib and ‘play’ with her… and you know how kittens play!

My kitten is now a cat. When he was little I swear I hardly slept. It was like having a baby. Even at 3 years old, he’s still a little mischief maker who likes to play at inconvenient hours. But I wouldn’t trade him for anything. Enjoy the kittens, even if you’re tired!
