We Interrupt this Tightwad Tuesday for a Big Announcement

Between buying a home and being chosen as one of Wal-mart’s eleven moms, this last month seems like a dream. And I don’t want to wake up!

I don’t have a Tightwad Tuesday tip for you today.  There are a couple of reasons behind this.  First of all, yesterday I spent all day cleaning my house and packing stuff for our upcoming move.  By the end of the day I was too beat to think of an original Tightwad Tuesday idea.

Second, I’m so excited about this big announcement that I can’t keep it from you any longer!  I was recently contacted by Wal-mart about joining their new Money Saving Community Project!  I’m one of only 11 moms across the country that were selected! For a small town girl like me, this is a big thing!

With assistance from YouTube and our FLIP video cameras from Pure Digital Technologies, the other moms and I will be regularly posting money saving advice on video. I posted my first video on Thursday, and though it was a little rough, I think it turned out OK!

To make sure you never miss a video, consider subscribing to Beingfrugal.net or subscribing to my YouTube channel.

Just to be clear, this is a volunteer opportunity for me (a volunteer opportunity with tons of publicity, for sure).  Wal-mart will not be paying me for my content, and my blog posts and videos will continue to be 100% my own perspective. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So celebrate with me!  This is a huge opportunity for me and for Beingfrugal.net!  And at times I’m sure you will see the benefits of this opportunity, too!  In fact I can think of something coming down the line shortly….but I’ll leave you in suspense about that right now.  :)

Be sure to visit the other ten moms chosen for this project, too!  I’ve already subscribed to each of their blogs, and they have some great tips for saving money! I can’t wait to work with each of them in the coming months!

You were made for the camera. :-) Congrats, and good luck as you think of things to say on film–I would run out of good ideas, but you never seem to!

Have fun packing too….it was such a blessing to purge my house of all the “junk” when we moved a few months ago. You will feel like a new woman.

And one more thing—I was glad to finally put a face with your name. I am a visual person, and it makes me feel so much more connected. Ha! :-) (You have a cute bathroom, by the way. We do ducks too!)
