Well done you! Is this a regular feature now?

Great video. I need to try this. I currently use Dawn and baking soda. The baking soda provides a little scrubbing grit, but I think your concoction might be a lot easier to rinse!

Good job. A new internet star is born!

You should do more of these…

Very clever. I have never heard of using this combination before. I will try it. Thanks

I love it! Great idea, I will have to give that a try. Do more of these, one day you will be a new feature on one of my favorite TV shows, ‘This Old House’. :-)

Good job on the video and I will have to try that combination of products. I do use vinegar a lot but never mixed it with dawn.

Cool video, Lynnae! Nice to see you in action. I use baking soda and vinegar for my tub but I’ll try your “formula” as it seems easier. Thanks!

How timely! I just scrubbed my tub down with Comet, and after inhaling the fumes (though lavender scented), I vowed to research homemade “green” cleaners.

This is awesome–thank you!

For those of us who do NOT have a sound chip (at work computer), what’s the big jug? White or apple cider vinegar?

If you add the Dawn last, you’ll not have to deal with that sudsing problem :)

gonna try this as my nose runs and my eyes water every time I clean with commercial cleansers.

About Dawn – I use it at work (auto recyling) for diesel, gasoline, and grease small spill clean-ups… the stuff is amazing in the way it grabs hold of the fuels :) Great stuff!!!

Enjoyed the video – even without sound!

As always, wtg, Lynnae! I hate using abrasives on my tub because inevitably, I don’t rinse it well enough and my skin takes a beating.

Yes please do a written article in addition to the video. I can’t see this or hear it!

Looks like a great idea that I would like to try. Quick question though: What would happen if you use the Ultra Dawn? I think that’s all I have in the house right now and I don’t want to go buy regular Dawn if I don’t have to. Thanks for the great video.

cool! I use the same cleaning mix all over the house, mostly in the kitchen. So awesome that you do it too. I’m a vinegar junkie so I try to use it everything I can, household-wise. Great video!

Thanks everyone! I was really nervous about posting this, but you’ve all been so receptive, I may have to try it again sometime!

@Marci – It’s just a big jug of plain, white vinegar! And I’ll remember to add the Dawn last next time. :)

Wow, I missed a couple of comments. The recipe is 1/2 cup of regular Dawn and the rest of the spray bottle filled with vinegar.

If I were to use Ultra Dawn, I might try to cut the Dawn down to 1/4 cup. I’ve never tried it though.

Heehee, you’re cute! And I like all the rubber duckies on the shelf behind you. ;)

That’s a great idea you have for a safer and effective bathtub cleaner and definitely one I must try. I’m not a big fan of harsh cleansers, and my husband an even bigger aversion to them, so your method looks much more appealing.

Thanks for being brave and posting your video! You were wonderful! :)

How cool to see you live (and in color-heehee).
Great tip! I’ll have to try it. Though, my husband is addicted to cleaning products. I’m not kidding. He believes everything the TV ads say and will buy anything with a grandiose promise on the bottle!

I will have to try that. Thank you for sharing.
