Between playdates and buying a house, I haven’t had much time to dedicate to writing this summer.
I can’t believe this year is more than half over, and that this summer is half over, too! It’s been a busy year, and several exciting things have happened with Being Frugal.net.
My latest blogging adventure was visiting a local radio station studio to record a future edition of Marketplace Money with the Tess Vigland, and fellow bloggers Jim of Blueprint for Financial Prosperity, and Steve of Brip Blap. It was lots of fun chatting with the three of them! I have no idea when the show will air, but I’ll let you know when I hear.
I have another blogging related project on the horizon, but it’s not set in stone yet. I’ll let you know when it materializes.
So Being Frugal is going strong, and I have big plans for the future.
That being said, I feel like I’m spinning plates this summer. Between kids being home from school, trying to buy a house, going on vacation, and other summer-related activities, I feel like my writing is suffering a bit.
In order to continue to provide you with quality posts and still maintain my sanity, I’m going to cut back my posting schedule to 5 days a week for the remainder of the summer. I plan to go back to a full 7 day posting schedule once school resumes, we move, and I can put together a regular blogging routine again.
That’s the latest on my blogging adventures. Since I can’t leave you with a post that doesn’t talk about personal finance or frugality at all, I’m going to take Mrs. Micah up on a recent challenge she issued her readers. The challenge is to do one thing to improve your financial system or organization this week. It was actually last week, and I’m late to the party, but better late than never, right?
This week I am going to start my FLOP. I had never heard of FLOP (Financial Life in One Place) until Bob from Christian PF submitted his guest post to me. If you haven’t read his post, go back and read it right now. It’s excellent advice. And I’m going to follow it. This week.
I would love it if you would join the challenge, too! Let me know what you’re going to do this week in the comments. If you have a blog, write about it! And then contact Mrs. Micah, so she can let the world know that you’ve joined the challenge, too!

I don’t blame you one bit for scaling back to a 5-day schedule. In fact, I’ve considered it myself as I feel spread pretty thin with full time work, family obligations, and a few other freelancing opportunities I’ve agreed to participate in.
Scaling back can be really helpful some times on your blog. 5 great posts are better than 7 average ones.
I would love to hear how your traffic stats are going and how much money you are making. This would encourage me (a struggling entrepreneur) with my blog.
Sounds like your blog is going really well though so congratulations.
As a reader, I sometimes get overwhelmed when my favorite blogs post so often that I end up just skimming the material.
All that to say, I’m looking forward to 5 (or fewer) posts!
Good luck!
I am glad the FLOP idea was able to help you out!!
thanks for the mention and good for you to switch to the 5 day schedule!!
Ooh, the FLOP sounds very exciting.
Good luck, with that.
Looking foward to your FLOP…wait that sounds bad, huh
Hi Lynnae,
I did the FLOP last week - it’s not hard and it brings a lot of peace of mind. I’d always worried that if anything happened to me, my DH wouldn’t know where to start!
Blessings!
I tend to agreee, nothing wrong with fewer posts. Alot of blogs I follow post only 1-2 times a week, too many blogs too many posts I end up not reading them. Personanlly 2-3 times a week is plenty.
