I helped with snack two days a week but it was a lot of fun. My 5 year old met some new kids and even had a playdate with one of his new friends. I got to know some of the adults at the church and some of the youth group kids who were assisting at VBS. These kids are so great--pleasant, helpful, kind and good with kids. I even asked two of them to help me with some yardwork one afternoon and they were wonderful (although I had to teach them how to actually transplant plants from containers and into the ground!). And, as a bonus, they both babysit so they didn't mind having my 5 year old hang around. And, when they were finished, they said I could pay whatever was comfortable to me (!) but I paid them $25 each for 2.5 hours of work each. That was always a fun time. :) I've been working crazy hours this week as well, which prompted my article. I've worked just about everything imaginable and I prefer days above all.
