Shopping

It’s hard to believe, but Father’s Day is just a few weeks away.

The following is a regular feature by Kyle of Rather-Be-Shopping. If you like this post, consider subscribing to his blog’s RSS feed.

Let’s lighten things up a bit with today’s post.

I have colorful neckties and overly strong cologne on my mind. Yes, you guessed it, Father’s Day is coming up on June 15th! As a father of three young kids, it is one of my favorite days of the year. It is with that in mind, that I proudly present my Top 5 wish list for Father’s Day this year.

1~ Gasoline Gift Card. I paid $4.19 a gallon yesterday so I need any help I can get. Heck, buy me a case of refried beans from Costco and I will make my own gas!

2~ Another Refrigerator (and more magnets). Help! I have run out of space on our frig to put up all the handmade gifts my kids bring home from school for me.

3~ Cowboy Hat. Since I already have a couple bottles of really strong cologne from last Father’s Day, I could use a cowboy hat to finish off the Marlboro Man look (and smell).

4~ Any Gadget For My BBQ. No explanation needed.

5~ Gift Of Time Spent. My favorite memories of the last few Father’s Days revolve around doing something fun together as a family. To quote the great Ben Franklin, “Do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of.”

To all the Dads reading this, please tell me what is on your wish list this year. Looking forward to your comments!

Being readers of Lynnae’s terrific blog, you already know that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have a great Father’s Day. If you are going to buy something for dear old Dad, try to get something personal that will end up a keepsake. From this Dad’s perspective, those are by far the most memorable gifts. One of my personal favorites is a custom created calendar from Shutterfly.com that has different pictures of my kids each month. I hang it proudly in my office and enjoy looking at it all year long. Here are some good online coupons that may be able to provide some additional inspiration.

Thanks for the giggle this morning. I love Kyle’s wish list :) My DH wants cigars and a cigar lighter. Our favorite nights are when we sit on the front porch and chat while he has a cigar. Weird? Maybe. But definitely fun.

Hey Momma, I like, I like. As a guy who use to smoke a stogie from time to time that is not wierd at all! Glad I provided a chuckle this morning.

  3. Cheryl Says:

Hehe, yes, thanks for the fun. Cute post. Thanks for the coupon ideas, too, and the reminder to get off my hiney and figure out something for me Dad :)
