I’ve been tagged. And tagged. And tagged. I normally don’t do a lot of memes on Being Frugal, but it’s a long weekend, and my brain is taking some time off from post writing.
I’ve been tagged by David and Shanti for the Six Word Memoir. It’s pretty tough to come up with a six word memoir, but I think I’ve done it.
Reflecting Jesus’ love with my life
That’s what I strive for. I know I fall far short a lot of the time. But I try to reflect the love of Christ in my relationships, in my marriage, in my parenting, in my finances…in all aspects of my life.
Now that you know the driving force in my life, I’ll tell you 8 random things about me. Thanks, Lin, for tagging me.
1. I love to read. But I don’t just read one book at a time. I read about four at once. I start a book, start another, and another. Then I go back to the first and read some more. And the cycle continues.
2. I hate to call people. I don’t mind receiving phone calls, but it’s rare that I pick up the phone to call anybody. My husband doesn’t even ask me to call in a pizza order anymore. He just knows better.
3. I never call my husband by his real name. I have multiple nicknames for him (which I won’t be sharing here), and I call him by my made-up nicknames.
4. I’m super-competitive. I hate to lose. There. I’ve said it. Sometimes that personality trait serves me well. Sometimes not so much.
5. I love to sing, but I can never remember the lyrics to songs. So I make them up. Seriously. And most of my lyrics don’t make sense. My family thinks I’m crazy.
6. I love to watch baseball games, but only if I can be at the game. Watching on TV is too boring, but put me in the bleachers with a hot dog, and I’m a happy girl.
7. I’m not athletic. At all. I’m probably the most un-coordinated person you’ll ever know. My dad used to call me "Grace," and it wasn’t a compliment.
8. I’m Dutch. 100%. All of my ancestors came straight from the Netherlands. I don’t speak the language, though.
Now you know a little more about me. And if you’d like to participate in either of these memes, consider yourself tagged!

Good job Lynnae. I don’t usually do meme’s either, but since I hadn’t done in awhile, I thought it would be fun to play along. And readers do enjoy it when I do them, so it was fun.
Don’t feel too bad about being called “Grace”, as my boss occasionally will jokingly call me Grace when I get butter-fingers or drop something at work. I guess occasional clumsiness stuck with me all these years.

Cool — my Dad was 100% Dutch; but his ancestors came over in the 1860s. They lived in one of the Dutch areas of Michigan, where people didn’t stumble over Dutch names like “Formsma.”

I hate calling for pizza too.

Hey, I’m 100% dutch as well
All 4 of my grandparents were born there, though my parent’s we both born in Canada… I also don’t ever call my husband by his given name… sometimes I wonder that bothers him? Oh well!

If you don’t know the words to a song, then just sing “watermelon”. Works every time. lol
