It seems I’ve been tagged by glblguy with the book meme. If you need to know what a meme is, here’s the official definition. I don’t do a lot of memes here, but I love books, so I just couldn’t resist participating in this one.
Here are the rules:
- Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
- Open the book to page 123.
- Find the fifth sentence.
- Post the next three sentences.
- Tag five people.
Picking a book was actually difficult. Gblguy had two books nearby, and he measured the distance from himself to the books to make sure he picked the right one. I happened to have SIX, yes six, books nearby, but I’m apparently not as detail oriented as glblguy, because I wasn’t about to go fish out my tape measure. :) Since I figure you are all much more interested in personal finance than all of the Christian novels I’ve received in the mail recently for review on my book blog, I grabbed my trusty copy of Your Money Or Your Life.
After opening to page 123 and finding the 5th sentence (which isn’t quite as hard as glblguy makes it sound), the following three sentences read
Your musings in response to these questions will also provide clues to your purpose. Take a few minutes right now to write down your purpose in life. It may have nothing to do with how you now spend your time.
Makes you want to read the book to find out what the questions are, doesn’t it? And no, I’m not going to tell you. You’ll just have to read for yourself.
The five people I’m going to tag are:
- Paidtwice at I’ve Paid for This Twice Already
- Kandy at Ramblings of a Redneck Woman
- LJ at Mommy Gets Paid
- Dawn at Iowahippiechick
- Mrs. Micah at Mrs.Micah
Have fun!

Hmmm…what a weird meme !
I grabbed the nearest book to me, Secrets of Time by Stephen Jones. Here’s what it says:
“So God in His mercy removed the Debt Note from Britain and gave it to the Israelis on November 29, 1947, to see if they would bring forth the Fruits of the Kingdom. The British government put the fate of Palestine into the hands of the United Nations on November 21, 1947. Eight days later, the Palestinian Resolution was passed.”
