One thing I love about your blog is that in spite of the tremendous adversity your family has dealt with this year, you are always counting your blessings.

The New Testament is a great place to get inspiration on how to live simply, with less value to things and more value to people.

Blessings,
Jen

Isn't it wonderful and comforting to know that God is concerned with us and all our needs and desires! I continue learning to put my trust in Him when things aren't going smoothly.
I look forward to reading how God has provided for you and your family this past year!

It's interesting you would talk about this as I was just discussing this very thing with a friend. I said what separates humans from Animals is intelligence and what separates Christians from Non Christians is faith or trust in God. Sometimes when I feel anxious about our future plans I remind myself that God will open and close doors as he sees fit and often opens door in the most unusual ways. That's how we wound up in Germany and then Spain. Both were completly unexpected. Where I think most Christians miss it is they expect God to provide a certain way (ie certain job or what ever) rather than just trusting God to provide.

I love that passage from Matthew. I read it all of the time. It really helps me when I get bogged down with all of the little things that don't really matter.
