As I sit here and write this on Friday night, the noise level is a little above the norm at my house. Giggles abound as my daughter and her friend rehash events that happened at school. Was I ever this silly as a girl? It’s not possible! I don’t think so anyway….
Hopefully, by the time you read this in the morning, the girls will have been asleep for a long while. Knowing how these things go, though, I’m not holding my breath. :)
On to the roundup. From the M-Network:
- Cancel Your Cell Phone Without Paying Fees – Cash Money Life. I never knew you could cancel your cell phone and avoid the fees.
- What to do when your debit card gets stolen - Gather Little By Little. Important stuff to know to protect your accounts.
- Don’t Make the Fatal Flaw in Budgeting – I’ve Paid For This Twice Already. Being flexible is the only way to succeed with a budget.
- Ask the Expert With Larry Swedroe – Moolanomy. One of my questions was featured. I’m not at all an expert in investing, and I found this column very informative. It’s a monthly feature, so if you have investing questions, head over to Moolanomy to submit them.
- IKEA Customer Service Really Failed This Weekend And I Won’t Be Back Soon – My Two Dollars. What is with bad customer service these days?
- Planning for retirement: pensions vs. buy to let part 1 – Plonkee Money. This is the first in a series, check out all three parts.
- Take Advantage of Your 401K – Single Guy Money. SGM lists some common mistakes people make with their 401K plans. Don’t make them yourself.
- The Dough Roller to donate 50% of it’s revenue to charity – The Dough Roller. I love that he’s doing this!
From the rest of the web:
- Learning How to Let Go – Brip Blap. I struggle with this a lot, though I’m slowly getting better.
- How to Prevent Child Identity Theft – Credit Withdrawal. This is a growing problem. Find out how to prevent your child’s identity from being stolen.
- Friday’s Frugal Feast: The Best Barbecue Chicken Ever – Real Life. Any recipe with Dr. Pepper in it has to be a winner. And if it’s cheap, all the better!
- What you need vs. what you want and how to tell the difference – Wise Bread. In today’s society wants are often confused with needs. You’d be surprised at how few things are truly needs.
- What’s Your Retirement Story? – My Dollar Plan. This guest post by rocketc really makes you think about what you want in your retirement years.
And one last (silly) little bit of business. It seems that I was outed for my sinister plan to skew poll results at Gather Little by Little. I was just going to let it go, but since my little plan was exposed, I may as well go through with it. There is a poll in glblguy’s sidebar asking how you pronounce “glblguy”. Several of us PF bloggers have nicknamed him Gibble, and we don’t want to let go of the name. So if you could kindly go vote for “Gibble guy” in the poll, I would much appreciate it. :)

Nobody liked my suggestion that glblguy be pronounced “Melvin.” Oh well, I’ll go vote for Giggle Guy – er, Gobble Guy – er, you know.
