What I Want Most of All

by Lynnae on December 30, 2007 · 9 comments

It’s not often I post on a Sunday anymore, but after spending some solitary time listening to Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, and other worship music last night, I started to think about what I really want in life, and I felt the need to write it down.  It’s not a big house, a nice car, or a fancy wardrobe. What I want is found in Isaiah 61:3:

…They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.

Have you ever seen a mighty oak? It is strong. Unwavering against the fiercest of winds. And it is majestic. Beautiful.

Oaks of Righteousness

That’s what I want to be. I want a faith that is strong. Unwavering. I want people to see the love of Jesus in my life. The splendor of His majesty.

I’ve got a ways to go, but if I, with God’s help, accomplish only that in life, I will consider my life a success.

You have it already Lynnae…it just doesn’t look like a mighty oak yet. (It takes a lifetime for our faith to mature from the sapling to the mature oak tree). Don’t you think that your family not just surviving 2007, but thriving through 2007 was an excellent example of your strength of faith in the Lord? Your a wonderful witness for the Lord Lynnae! God Bless!!!

What a fabulous goal that we can all admire! Writing it down is so important, something about just the act of writing things down seems to help them come to be. Although, like Dawn, I’d say you are already there, you are a huge motivation to us all. I recently blogged about instead of listing resolutions, seeking resolution in our lives. Your post today goes right along with that.

Blessings,

Jen

My aspirations are similar. I believe Jesus is returning soon. May God hasten the day!

Some music I love to sing to: Tree63, MercyMe (the newest album is great), Newsboys (especially Adoration and Devotion), and Bebo Norman (Between the Dreaming and Coming True).

Also, “Yahweh” by U2 (the last song on How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb) is awesome. As well as “The Saints Are Coming” and “Window in the Skies” by U2 on U218.
