Writer’s Block

I’ll admit it. I have a bad case of writer’s block tonight. I’ll also admit I’m a procrastinator by nature. I keep meaning to write myself some extra posts for nights such as these, but I never get around to it. I really do like to write. I just need to be in the right mood.

So tonight, instead of writing, I have done the following things.

1. Surfed the net. I’ve stumbled some articles, played on Facebook, and read some blogs. Then I checked my blog stats. And checked them again. Did you know that they don’t change much in 10 minutes?

2. Watched a couple of episodes of Without a Trace. I’ve just gotten into this show this year, and I have a couple of years worth of episodes to catch up on.

3. Read the Toys R Us catalog with my son. Don’t ask. He got a hold of it before I could sneak it into the recycle bin.

4. Organized my CDs. I’ve been meaning to do this for a while. I bought an organizer a week ago, and tonight I took all of the CDs out of their cases and filed them away. In alphabetical order. By category. Yes, I’m a perfectionist. That probably explains why I procrastinate.

5. Told my husband what happened on Dr. Phil today. Since he’s been home during the day, he’s become quite the Dr. Phil fan. He had a staff meeting today, though, so he missed the show.

6. Posted on a couple of message boards that I frequent. When my husband got tired of the Dr. Phil rundown, I found some online friends to talk to.

7. Set the DVR to record How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I missed it last year, and I wasn’t about to let it happen again.

8. Answered my emails. That needed to be done anyway. What better time than when I’m supposed to be doing something else?

9. Talked to the goldfish. Yeah, I know….

10. Thought about all the stuff I need to do tomorrow. I need to write a few thank you notes, pay the bills, clean off the desk, organize the DVD cabinet, do the laundry, help my son clean his room……and the list goes on.

So now you know how I handle writer’s block. Hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow with a brilliant post. I’ll definitely be back later this afternoon with my carnival roundup. And at least I didn’t spend any money last night, right?

Lol. I’ve done that kind of thing too. Sometimes you just have to unwind and space out…

Hey, my goldfish has a lot of personality! :) Besides, everyone else was ignoring me.

Hahahaha! I do stuff like that to avoid doing other stuff! My thing was doing the dishes last night - finally I had to make myself go do them.
PS I talk to the cat

We all enjoy hearing from you, even if it isn’t about saving money. Just keep writing!

Well, even if you didn’t get much writing done, sounds like you did a bunch of other things. lol

When I don’t feel like writing, I usually just write a paragraph linking to another good article I found. Some weeks it seems I have more of those than I’d like ;)

Wow, this is the best time-wasting list I’ve read EVER. I’ll have to remember some of these when I’ve got things to do and don’t want to do them ;)
