Weekend Roundup – I’ve had enough turkey edition

by Lynnae on November 24, 2007 · 5 comments

We had a great Thanksgiving. My mom came over, and we ate way too much turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pumpkin pie, among other things. Yesterday, at my daughter’s insistence, we put the Christmas tree up. This is our second year with an artificial tree, and we’ve never had a tree up this early. It’s kind of nice.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, too. And while you’re relaxing for the rest of the weekend, here’s some great reading for you!

From other blogs:

And on to the carnivals and festival:

I participated in the Festival of Frugality with my post Is Frugal Living the New Trend? And How Our Paper Missed the Mark. I also enjoyed Force Yourself to Save! 15 Painless Ways to Pay Yourself First at The Digerati Life. Thanks to Kyle at the Rather-be-Shopping blog for hosting the festival.

I also participated in the All Women Blogging Carnival with my post Oprah, Hoarding, and Self-Worth. My favorite post from that carnival is Family and Finances at the Green Panda Treehouse. Thanks to Jo Beaufoix.com for hosting the carnival.

Finally, I participated in the Carnival of Debt Reduction with my post My experience buying a used car with cash.  I have to congratulate Single Guy Money, who entered his post I DID IT!!!!!  What did he do?  He paid off his credit card debt!  Thanks to Mighty Bargain Hunter for hosting at the last minute.  I’m hosting this week, so be sure to submit your posts!

That’s all for this week!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

‘m glad you enjoyed the Family and Finances article. I’m happy that it didn’t turn out bad, as sometimes the two don’t mix well.

Thanks for the mention. :) We’ll be putting up our tree this weekend. We also have an artificial tree, but with built-in lights which makes it easier! (After Christmas deals are wonderful!)

Thanks for the link! We’ll be putting up our tree in the next couple of weeks. We always have a real tree, and it dried out pretty quick last year so we’re going to wait a little longer this year.

We didn’t have turkey this year and I missed it. I am glad you and your family enjoyed it.
