Weekend Roundup – Crazy About Cars Edition

by Lynnae on November 17, 2007 · 4 comments

We’re gearing up for the last race of the NASCAR season here in the Being Frugal household. Looks like Jimmie and Jeff will duke it out for the Cup. It’s Jr.’s last race for DEI (it would be nice to see him win this weekend), and Kyle Busch’s last week at Hendrick. And I know most of you are probably rolling your eyes that I’m even excited about this. So I won’t torture you any longer. On to the roundup!

It’s all about cars this week. The M-Network posted stories on new cars, used cars, no cars, and everything else in between. Other bloggers joined in, and there were stories about cars all over the blogosphere. The final list follows.

I also participated with my post My experience buying a used car with cash. If you participated, but aren’t on the list, leave a comment or contact me, and I’ll be glad to add you.

I participated in one festival this week, the 100th Festival of Frugality at Frugal for Life. Dawn did a great job with the carnival, including the first ever blog posts of the participants, as well as the festival entry. It was fun to see how bloggers had grown over the months and years. I highly recommend you take the time to read through the posts. I participated with my post 50 Frugal Christmas Ideas. Dawn also included my first post from back in May, Being Frugal.

I hosted the Carnival of Money Stories this week. It was a lot of fun, and I thank everyone who participated!

I also thank everyone who voted for me last week in the contest to win a free blog design! The voting is closed, and the votes are being tallied. I have quite a few, so I’m hopeful that I’ll come in first or second. I’ll keep you posted!

Since Thanksgiving is next week, I’ll just keep saying thank you. Seriously, I want to take a moment to thank everyone who takes the time to read and/or comment on Being Frugal every day. Fire Finance came out with their latest Top 100 PF Blogs, based on traffic, and I was amazed that I ranked so high. And it all has to do with you, so thank you. Blogging wouldn’t be any fun without the constant interaction I get from you all!

And finally, I’m going to start giving myself a day off on Sundays.  I love blogging, but I’m finding I need a day off to enjoy the weekend with my family and spend time planning for the next week.  So there will be no Sunday posts from here-on out.  I’ll see you back here bright and early Monday morning!

Go #24!!!! Still can’t believe an Earnhardt is joining Hendrick. Not sure what I’m going to do…it’s like a Dallas Cowboy player playing for the Washington Redskins!

Good decision on taking the day off…I don’t blog on the weekends period…found I needed the break too :-)

Enjoy your day off!
