It’s been a long week. It’s never easy when your husband loses his job. However, the support I’ve received from you, my readers, has been amazing! The number of people who have stopped to leave an encouraging comment, say a prayer, and offer some sound advice just blows me away. So thank you all. I hope one day I can repay your kindness.
There are a lot of links to share this week, so I’ll get right to it.
From around the blogosphere:
- Free Money Finance thinks Dave Ramsey is a hypocrite. Do you?
- No Credit Needed had a lot of questions after watching Oprah. I saw part of that show. Unbelievable.
- Mary Hunt revealed the National Retail Federation’s forecast for holiday spending this year at Money Rules, Debt Stinks! I cannot imagine spending that much money on Christmas. It kind of defeats the meaning of the holiday.
- Brip Blap shares the myth of the parent that NEEDS to work. Now this is a post after my own heart.
From the M-Network:
- Christian PF featured a guest post by Linda Bustos, who asked if a Christian should have a credit card. What do you think?
- DebtFREE-Revolution wondered if the debt-free concept could go viral. I think it could, and Ana would be leading the way!
- Glblguy tells us why he blogs. I always think it’s interesting to read the stories behind other people’s blogs.
- Paidtwice asks whether or not to merge your finances when you’re in a relationship and combining households. Why don’t you stop by and tell her what you think?
- Moolanomy tells us about the art of unethical up-selling. He recently had a bad experience with an online purchase. Don’t make the same mistake.
- My Two Dollars gives you ten reasons you should quit your job today. Unless you’re me and you don’t have a job to quit, but you already know that story. :) Maybe I should write a post on ten reasons you should never go back to work.
- Plonkee Money talks about cameraderie and one upmanship. I really like this perspective!
- Single Guy Money tells us why some of the properties he’s been looking at as investments are so cheap.
- The Dough Roller posts a funny story about toddlers rallying against Hillary Clinton’s universal pre-K plan. Whether you’re for it or against it, this is one hysterical post!
Carnivals this week:
- Free Money Finance hosted the Carnival of Money Stories.
- Mighty Bargain Hunter (aka Dr. Seuss) hosted the Carnival of Personal Finance.
- DebtFREE-Revolution hosted the Carnival of Debt Reduction.
- Fire Finance hosted the Festival of Frugality.
There’s a new debt-reduction blog on the block:
- Ryan recently started his blog, Debt Reduction Formula. He tells the story of how he got into debt with a series of six posts. Start with post one, and you won’t stop reading! I read the whole story in one sitting, and I don’t have a particularly long attention span. I’m definitely going to follow this blog to see how things turn out.
Finally, congratulations are in order:
- Erin at Working for Financial Freedom paid off her Visa yesterday! Be sure to stop by and congratulate her!
I know this has been a long roundup, but there have been so many good posts this week that I couldn’t bear to leave anything out. Enjoy reading!
