A little bloggy business

by Lynnae on September 12, 2007 · 15 comments

A friend brought it to my attention this morning that my blog isn’t very user friendly for some of my readers. Apparently some of you who are using Internet Explorer are seeing a rather messed up version of my blog. Thanks, Megan, for pointing that out.

I’m not real technologically savvy, but I want to fix this. I’m looking into a couple of things, and if all else fails, I may switch to a more user-friendly theme. So don’t be surprised if the look of my blog changes again soon. For those of you who are able, you might want to try switching to firefox while reading my blog for the time being. If you’re not able to switch, I appreciate your patience while I work this out.

Thanks a lot!

Yeah, I wonder what all the people on IE think? When I saw the site using Liz’s older computer, I couldn’t believe how bad it looks!

So now you know what I’M doing tonight! :)

Lynnae ~ it looks the same in Firefox for me as it does in IE 7 (the newest version…) SO it must only be if people have an older version of IE…

I like this new look Lynnae, much cleaner. I think I was seeing the dodgy version too, but this looks really good.

Thank you! And again, I’m so sorry for that bad theme before. I had no idea!

Lynnae,

I love this brown w/red scheme. I use Firefox, and I think this one looks much better. I like being able to see your chart.

Good advice, I ran across a tidbit like this somewhere else and thought it was helpful: basically play with your own monitor’s settings to see how your page looks on different browsers. A very valuable idea and worth repeating.

p.s. I didn’t know where to throw this, but I thought it would be fun for you to repeat your pie chart (the purple on on the right that says track my progress at the NCN Network) on your My Progress page. The numbers are good to see your progress, but I am more of a visual person and I am drawn to graphs/charts, etc. Also, it might be fun to update the graph every four months or so to see the debt go down. Just a suggestion, I hope I haven’t stepped on your toes, here. That’s not my intention.

Those are both great ideas, cardiogirl. I need to update the graph again in the next couple of days, since I just made some payments. And I’m going to see if I can get it on my progress page. I’m not sure I’m skilled enough in HTML, but I will try. :)

Lynnae, I’ve recently found your site and really like what I see. I’m very proficient with HTML, so if you need any help, give me a holler!

Brandon, I may just do that sooner rather than later! Thanks for the offer!
