Breakdown of my weekend expenses

I really didn’t spend much over the weekend, except for a little splurge at Target. My whole trip came to well under $400, including the airline tickets. Here’s the breakdown.

Airline tickets through Travelocity: $317.55
Lunch at Taco Bell: $4.19
Target shopping (stuff to bring home for the family): $25.26
Sandwich and bottled water for dinner at the airport: $7.98
Airport parking for two days: $12.00
Grand total: $366.98

It really helped that my brother picked up the tab for the hotel room and rental car. Otherwise, I don’t think I would have been able to afford the trip. That’s how he convinced me to go. It also helped that I was so tired from traveling on Saturday that I wasn’t hungry for dinner.

The hotel served a free breakfast on Sunday morning, so we didn’t have to worry about paying for breakfast. Unfortunately we were so busy on Sunday that we didn’t have time to stop for something to eat before hitting the airport. I got stuck buying a very expensive sandwich for dinner. It was pretty tasty though, and considering it was only the second meal I paid for over the weekend, it was OK.

I’m hoping that someday when I’m out of debt, I can repay my brother for his generosity by treating him to a trip. That’s another incentive to get out of debt.
