I firmly believe that you need a plan to succeed at anything. That includes paying off debt. That being said, every Monday I will be focusing on one area a week to either cut costs or increase income. I will put the savings toward my debt.

This week I will be selling my kids’ outgrown clothes on Ebay. It’s the time of year when school clothes sell pretty well on Ebay, so I should fetch a pretty good price for what I have. I also have a free trial membership to Stamps.com that’s set to expire soon, so I want to use it before I cancel my membership. As part of the free trial, they gave away $5 off postage, so that will be a nice savings when I ship my Ebay packages.

What are you doing to save money this week?

Why don’t you get a part time job?

I’ve looked at the possibility of getting a part time job. If I got one, my options for the kids would be to either put them in daycare (which would pretty much eat up the second income) or work nights and weekends. Since my husband and I value our family time, we prefer to cut costs and make it on one income, at least for now.

When my youngest is in school full time, the plan is for me to find a job in the school district.
